Sophie Liard is a self taught fiber artist born and raised in France in 1976 and based in Florence, Italy. After a master’s degree in French modern literature, she set out to create fabric bags that she sells online. In 2013 when the internet is no longer the playground that she loved, she decides to give up the activity and to embark on what she really holds, the creation of unique works that bring together her passion: letters, fabrics, and colors. She learns traditional embroidery techniques from local embroiderers who pass on a know-how from generation to generation and reuses these techniques in a contemporary use.
